Launching this program for the first time yields an almost completely blank screen, with only a "Collections" button and a "Doghouse Search" field at the top. Wheres the "Welcome to Pocketpedia! Heres how to get started..." greeting? What am I supposed to do here?
Tapping Collections brought me to another nearly blank screen, but at least this one told me I had to sync with my Mac via Wi-Fi. (What, no iCloud?) After jumping through a bunch of hoops that included a $12 update to my copy of DVDpedia, I managed to make that work, but it was all guesswork on my part--no help from Bruji.
This apps library search field is hidden unless I scroll the list of titles to the very top. When there are a lot of titles (as in my case), thats a major nuisance. In an app whose sole purpose is to let me find things in my collection, the search capability should NEVER be hidden!
On the other hand, the "Doghouse search" field is always visible... but it brings up titles I dont own and never heard of. Theres no explanation of this (or indeed, of anything else) in the Pocketpedia app, and searching Brujis support website FAQ for doghouse yields no results. How is it that an (apparently) major feature is completely undocumented?
I really wanted to love this app. Goodness knows weve all waited long enough for a way to sync our Pedia collections with our iOS devices. But Pocketpedia leaves the user to stumble through setup, offers no help or explanations, and makes its key function--library search--hard to get to much of the time. I look forward to seeing these problems addressed in an update, but I cant recommend the app in its present state.
